Volvo 1800 Introduction
Volvo introduced the model Volvo P1800 as the classic sports car. This model is remembered and known for the TV show, 'The Saint' staring Roger Moore. Only five P1800 models were produced and one of the P1800's was wrecked on accident in 1967.
The P1800 is famous for a safety, reliability, and large and boxy vehicle from Volvo production. As well as this car is stylish, responsive, sports coupe. Volvo had decided to go for a sports car model which they dubbed the P1900. But it is not long lived and mostly only 70 were produced, due to some financial decisions.
Volvo was having lack of space problem for manufacturing its vehicles, so contracted a company 'Pressed Steel Company' for fabricating the bodies of the vehicles. Jensen named factory in England was assembling the P1800's.
The P1800 became widely successful among the competitors and was having inexpensive price tag compared with other sports cars, some different features like the interior provided leg room for larger individuals and the weight of the vehicle and the size of the engine made it quick and agile.
This Volvo car design was really timeless, so only minor aesthetic changes were made in it's twelve years in production. One of the big changes is the electronic fuel injection.
